When you are the special guest in the home, it is best to be modest regarding the food. Let the host serve you and do not forget to compliment not only the taste of the food but also the presentation. It would be appreciated if you would ask for more because the host will never be turned off with that request for more food. At the end of the meal, the host would be glad to hear your review of the food and the dining experience.

There was a time that we had a guest, a cousin who had married a German. It was the German’s first time so my cousin acted as her husband’s interpreter. Even the food that we served was translated by my cousin so that guest would understand. Before they left, the German had high praises for the meal and maybe because of the translation and not really much for the taste.
