    Tugi is a type of taro but it is more like the yam although not violet in color. It is a vine that has tubers in the roots. Tugi is common in the Rizal province although there are also mountain areas where Tugi grows. It is boiled and eaten with grated coconut and sugar. For those who know how to cook ginatan, tugi is one good ingredient.
