Bahay Kubo means a small hut in the farm and the song speaks of the vegetables that are planted there. This is a nursery song that is popular until now.
    Bahay Kubo kahit munti
    Ang halaman doon ay sari-sari.
Singkamas at talong, sigarilyas at mani
    Sitaw, bataw, patani.
    Kundol, patola, upo’t kalabasa
At saka mayroon pa, labanos, mustasa.
    Sibuyas, kamatis, bawang at luya
Sa paligig-ligid ay puno ng linga.

The mentioned vegetable are turnip, eggplant, butterfly beans, peanut, string beans, gourds, squash. There’s also radish, mustard, onion, tomato, garlic, ginger and sesame seeds to end the song. I admire the creativity of the composer because the vegetables can really be found in the farm’s garden.
